This is a Community of Practice for UK animal advocates who want to get better, together, at communicating for animals. Supported by Animal Think Tank, it’s a space to teach, learn, and coordinate on the work of building a society where animals matter.

We’re built on three things:

  • Knowledge — everything we discuss is grounded in communications and narrative research, and in real work from the movement.
  • Inspiration — we learn from each other. Everyone in the room has something worth sharing.
  • Network — we work together and lean on each other’s strengths, so we can do more for animals collectively than any of us could alone.

Who this is for

How we’ll work together

Prioritise attendance

Each session builds on the last, and the discussion is richer when we know each other’s work. We ask for consistent attendance across all six sessions, unexpected events aside.

Be present

We’ll start and end on time. Come ready to focus, without distractions.

Share your work

Real examples are where the value is. We may ask some of you to share something from your own work ahead of a session — we appreciate you saying yes when we do.

Assume good faith

We come from different organisations, roles, and points of view, and we won’t always agree. Approach each other with curiosity, not judgement — we all want the same thing for animals.

Keep it confidential

Much of the value here comes from talking openly about challenges and unfinished work. Please check before sharing anything discussed in the group outside of it — especially about specific organisations, failures, or work in progress.

Make it yours

This is as much a space for us to learn from you as the other way round. Tell us what would make KIN more useful, and we’ll shape it around that.
